Eight strangers in an empty mirror city, where a card game every midnight decides who stays.
You wake up at a crosswalk in a city that's yours, only backwards — every sign flipped, every clock
running the wrong way, and nobody left in it but eight strangers and a cheerful host whose face is a blank playing
card.
Every night at midnight there's a game whose rules are fair and whose loopholes are real, and whoever loses gets
unplayed: flattened into a card and filed in the Dealer's deck. The deck needs fifty-two cards, and at the moment it
has forty-four.
